Upcoming Conferences and Twitch Hiatus
It’s been a minute since I’ve posted an update, and I feel like I have some news to share. I thought you’d all like to know where Monkeypit is headed and what I’ve been up to.
First off, I’ll be hosting a booth at Monsterpalooza from May 29th to May 31st this year at the Pasadena Convention Center. While I did have a look at the Artist’s Alley, I I decided to get a booth in the main exhibition area. When it comes to creature art, props, and effects, this is probably one of the world’s preeminent events. Of course, there will be some “horror adjacent” celebrities there like Alice Cooper, Geezer Butler, and Geena Davis (which is the main draw). But from my perspective, I’m mostly pumped to finally be meeting some of the M0nkeypit Twitch channel VIPs in person!
I’m also set to exhibit at this year’s Mad Monster Party expo in Phoenix for the second year in a row. I enjoyed my time there last year (glad we had air conditioning!), I got a very warm welcome from other vendors. It was also the best show of my solo career; I think I stood out a little bit with most vendors selling IP related posters, toys, etc. The vibe was good and I enjoyed having deeper discussions with people (as opposed to some conventions which can seem a bit more transactional).
Once again, my bald buddy AngstChild will be helping me out at the events; I’m sure embarrassing me with his normal dog & pony show. In all seriousness, it will be good to reconnect and see what he’s been up to. He even volunteered to come to Phoenix during July; he must be either a good friend or a masochist.
In other news, I’ve had a good Twitch run at the front of this year. I was able to explore some new styles with my acrylics (my “Beksinski era” haha) and I even went back to some old mixed media with my watercolors. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished this year to date. But because of the convention schedule and needing to spend more quality time with the family, I’ll be on a Twitch hiatus this summer. I plan on coming back more inspired and refreshed than ever before later in 2026.
Until then, I’d love to see you in person at either of the Pasadena or Phoenix shows if you can make it. Thank you all again for your continued support and please have a “most excellent” summer. <insert guitar riff>
